Concerts & other projects

Katrine has had the opportunity to write for a number of exceptional performers and develop  compositions which meet professional orchestral standards . Find out more below.

2024
Ealing Wind Orchestra

In early 2024, Katrine wrote 'Marchers' Dance', to be workshopped by Ealing Wind Orchestra. The piece took traditional march music and added themes of reversed and circular motion, using reversed melodies and counter-melodies, overlapping each other.

The work was performed at the orchestra's Christmas concert. Listen to a clip from the recording below.

Graeme Danby and Alice Johnston -

Sylvia Plath Song Cycle

Using Sylvia Plath's 1957 poem 'Recantation', Katrine composed a work for soprano and piano. The song formed part of a cycle performed by prolific bass singer Graeme Danby and soprano Alice Johnston, with Emanuele Mollica on piano.

2022

Mifune Tsuji Trio

The renowned Mifune Tsuji trio performed Katrine's work for violin, saxophone and piano. The piece works with conflicting polyrhythms and is inspired by the emotional centre of the brain, the amygdala.
